The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is the umbrella organization of all national canoe organizations. Its headquarters is in Lausanne, Switzerland, and ICF administers all aspects of canoe sport worldwide. Currently, 147 countries are affiliated with the ICF. Its predecessor organization, the Internationale Repräsentantenschaft Kanusport (IRK) was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark on 19 January 1924, it became the ICF in 1946.
